2 Chelsea Loanees Set To Join Club This January As Injury Crisis Continues At Stamford Bridge

Names of about two players and two loanees Chelsea could bring to Stamford Bridge in this January transfer window have emerged.

The January transfer window offers the chance to rebalance the squad and also address any glaring issues as Chelsea heads into 2022 with renewed optimism.

Chelsea confirmed on Tuesday that their left-back, Ben Chilwell, will miss the rest of the season due to a knee injury he sustained against Juventus in the Champions Leagues in November.

That leaves Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel with just one senior recognized left-back in the form of Marcos Alonso.

As a result of that, the Blues are keen to bring in cover and competition for Alonso in the January window and are exploring a host of options.

Chelsea Name Left-Back To Replace Chilwell As He Is Confirmed Out Until End Of Season

Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that top of their list is Everton left-back, Lucas Digne, who could be available on loan until the end of the season.

Digne has already fallen out of favor in Rafa Benitez’s side this season and has missed Everton’s last three matches.

Others are Barcelona full-back, Sergino Dest. However, this would be a permanent deal rather than a loan.

And Chelsea could bring back two full-backs Emerson Palmieri and Ian Maatsen.

Emerson Palmieri is currently on loan at Lyon, while Maatsen is on loan at Coventry City.
