8 Forgotten Chelsea Stars Back For Pre-Season Training Ahead Of Next Season
The Blues have been famous for having a huge ‘loan army’ of players, as well as a massive academy that produces some great talent.
The club’s Premier League squad can only be so big that a lot of the loanees and youngsters sadly never get the chance to make it to the top in the league.
Moreover, in the preparation for the new campaign, we spotted some forgotten Chelsea stars in training. Most of the players are stars we have not seen play for Chelsea consistently for quite some time, but they are aiming to impress Thomas Tuchel now.
Below the list goes;
1. Trevoh Chalobah

The 22-year-old has had three loan spells away from Stamford Bridge already. However, Chalobah remains a versatile midfielder who can impress Tuchel in training now once fit.
2. Malang Sarr

Though not technically forgotten, it’s going to be tough for Malang Sarr to break into the first team as we have some talented center-backs around. The 21-year-old is likely to go out on another loan this season as things stand unless Chelsea decides to move out some high-profile defenders in their ranks this summer.
3. Charly Musonda Jr

Musonda was once considered one of the brightest stars of the Chelsea academy. However, his career has been hampered by severe injuries that have kept him out of action for a long time.
Now he is finally back on the field and will be looking to finally get his Blues career off the line.

4. Matt Miazga

The American joined Chelsea in 2016 from New York Red Bulls but has only made 2 appearances for the senior team as he has spent the majority of his time out on loan.
Now aged 25, it’s hard to see the player getting a chance here. He is likely to move on a permanent deal.
5. Tiemoue Bakayoko
The Frenchman’s career at Stamford Bridge has been a horrible one, to say the least. The £40m move for the midfielder is one of Chelsea’s rare failures in the transfer market.
Although he is in training we don’t think fans will see him starting a game for the Blues ever again.
6. Baba Rahman

Most Blues supporters would be surprised Rahman is still a Chelsea star. He made the move to Chelsea from German side Augsburg in 2015 for €25M but it’s safe to say that he’s one of the biggest forgotten men here.
And now with Ben Chilwell here, we don’t think we will see Baba Rahman back in the team anytime soon.
7. Davide Zappacosta

The Italian is likely to be sold if a good offer comes for him as his contract expires next summer. At 29, we don’t see much possibility of Chelsea renewing his contract.
8. Danny Drinkwater

There are little to no chances of Danny Drinkwater starting any game for Chelsea as things stand at the moment.
Many of his 23 appearances for the club came under Antonio Conte and with Chelsea’s quality in midfield, we can see him being sold this summer.
Who are you surprised he’s still a Chelsea player?
