Koeman Gives An Honest Answer To Whether Barca Can Win Champions League Without Messi
The Champions League football is back once again as the stage sets for the biggest European clubs to lock horns for the prestigious trophy.
Barcelona will be kicking off their 2021-22 Champions League campaign against Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich on Tuesday night. And the Catalan boss has given his view on the club’s stance on this season’s competition;
“Can we win the Champions League? It is something that cannot be answered, tomorrow we will be able to draw conclusions against a rival who aspires to the maximum,” Ronald Koeman has told the media ahead of the Bayern Munich clash.
“Chelsea won the competition last year and surely they were not among the favorites to do so… ” he added.

Meanwhile, the five-time Champions League winners last won the competition in 2015 under Jose Enrique. Koeman, on the other hand, has only led Barcelona to Copa del Ray glory since taking over 2 years ago.
As a reminder, Barca will take on Bayern, Benfica, and Dynamo Kyiv in the Champions League group stage.
The competition final will take place on May 28 with Chelsea the current titleholders.
