Barca’s Midfield Options Vs Getafe Revealed – Busquets To Be Rested, Pedri On Holiday

Ronald Koeman has finally given Pedri his well-deserved rest ahead of the international break which comes up in the first week of September.

However, Barcelona still have one La Liga fixture to execute before players travel to help their countries. The game will be against Getafe at Camp Nou on Sunday.

So with Pedri temporarily out of the picture, the Dutch manager may turn towards youngster Gavi as his replacement.

While Riqui Puig would also do a great job in Pedri’s place, but it’s unlikely that Koeman considers him.

Elsewhere, Barcelona captain Sergi Busquets is another man who could be given some rest. The 33-year-old has started Barca’s 2 games so far – Koeman could drop him for Sergi Roberto.

Although Nico Gonzalez is in contention, Roberto is far more experienced. Plus Koeman has been experimenting with him in that position all through the preseason.

Of course, there’s no Barcelona without Frenkie De Jong. He’s been a beast in the early days of the campaign. So he retains his indispensable position.
