Real Betis Manager and Former Man City Boss Sends Message To Man United Ahead Of Europa Clash

“I’m sure they [Manchester United] see me as the great enemy,” laughed Manuel Pellegrini during an interview with The Telegraph.

Pellegrini, who has managed Manchester City in the past, will face United once again – this time as the Real Betis manager in the Europa League last 16.

“I don’t think United have ever been hit as hard as this,” said Pellegrini, referencing the 7-0 loss to Liverpool.

“I don’t know how the team will react. Whether they’ll go down or come at us with a knife between their teeth.”

However, he did appreciate Erik ten Hag’s work at the club so far, adding: “An institution as big as Manchester United would always be resurrected. They have invested a lot of money to become competitive again against City, Liverpool or Chelsea.”

No one knows what to expect from United, given how erratic we have been over the past couple of years.

One bad loss cannot undo all of our progress in 2022/23 and hopefully, we return to winning ways against Betis.
