Bruno Fernandes marked his first-year anniversary as a Manchester United player with a heartwarming message and a promise for the future. The Portuguese playmaker plans to spend ‘many years’ at the Old Trafford and vowed not to rest until he helps the club’s legacy grow.
Fernandes has been sensational during his first 12 months at Manchester scoring 28 goals and providing 18 assists in only but 53 appearances. His performances this season have sparked Manchester United into title contenders.
Moreover, the 26-year-old’s display at the theatre of dreams has naturally stirred rumors over his long-term future with United. Reports in the Spanish press last December even claimed a Real Madrid transfer could happen someday.
However, the midfielder has rebuked any doubts over his commitment to the club as he bids to win his first trophy with United this campaign.
Following Manchester United’s goalless draw against Arsenal on Saturday in the Premier League, Bruno Fernandes took to Instagram to write: “Definitely not the result I wanted to celebrate my first year as a Red, but we’ll keep working to improve.
“It’s an absolute honor to play football with the Man Utd badge on my chest. The history of this football club was built over wins, many wins. I came here to help on continuing that legacy, and I won’t rest until I do it.
“I want to thank all the fans for your outstanding support. Hopefully, this was only the first of many years together. Glory, glory Man United!”
