Speaking on Sky Sports, Jamie Carragher said: “The Crystal Palace game with Cristiano Ronaldo, the pressing from him was absolutely outstanding and this is what Ralf Rangnick will want from his attacking players.
“From what we saw at the weekend, the two no.10s and two center-forwards right up alongside the defense. Where it pays dividends is you then find that player — it could be Bruno Fernandes — in that pocket in that hole.
“That’s where Manchester United are going to find their attacking players more often than not. At the weekend for Man United, it was Marcus Rashford and Ronaldo, making that run forward between full-back and center-back.”
Cristiano Ronaldo, meanwhile, has put the concerns about his perceived lack of pressing to bed with solid displays against Arsenal (with Rangnick watching in the stands at Old Trafford) and Palace.
The 36-year-old remains in incredible physical shape and currently, there is nothing to suggest that Cristiano will have any troubles adapting to the German’s style of play at Man United.
