Carrick Makes Statement After Chelsea Draw As He Prepares To Step Down As United Interim Boss

When asked about the drawing 1-1 with Chelsea, Michael Carrick said: “Disappointed actually.

“When you are in front in a game like this to have it taken away from you. Immensely proud of the players and staff in a difficult situation.

“That was a fantastic all-round performance, we defended well and I cannot fault them one bit.

“I feel for the players… They gave absolutely everything. A lot has been made of this pressing thing, we press high up the pitch in pretty much every game.”
