Captain Cesar Reveals Chelsea Plans To Deal With Recent Form, Sends Special Request To Teammates

“We know a draw isn’t good enough and finishing second isn’t good enough. The last couple of games haven’t been good and the results have been reflective of the performances,” Cesar Azpilicueta said after the Zenit game.

“We have to have a reaction. We lost the top spot in the Premier League, top spot in the Champions League. We have to face the reality and analyze ourselves.

“We are normally a team that is solid and doesn’t concede many chances. In the last games, we’ve conceded six goals and that’s not good enough.

“Hopefully we can improve from Saturday because it’s been a key part of our success.

“Every time we try to work out best and it’s true that today isn’t our best game. In football, you have to accept, analyze on the training pitch and then try to get the best of everyone.

“We are making a lot of mistakes and need to recover the intensity and solidity. We are conceding too many chances and the key to our success was to not concede chances and be ruthless. We need to recover this.

The Boss Reveals What Has Gone Wrong At Chelsea After Yet Another Below Par Performance

“It’s true that at Chelsea you don’t need many defeats in a row to call it a bad period or a crisis. It’s part of this club’s ambition to be at the top.

“Last season in December, we were top of the league and group, and then we had a bad run of results. We need everybody to give that extra percent as a team and individuals.”

Chelsea have drawn 3-3 against Zenit. The disappointing draw comes after a loss against West Ham.

The Blues have finished second in their Champions League group. They have dropped to third place in the Premier League standings.
