Chelsea Close To First Summer Signing Of a £55.8m-Rated Star After Days Of Negotiation

The Blues are on the verge of completing their first transfer deal this summer following days of negotiations with Inter Milan star Achraf Hakimi’s representative, according to Calciomercato.

Previously, the Italian outlet had claimed that the right wing-back’s transfer saga is a two-horse race between Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.

While many would think that a transfer of such scale would take some time, Inter’s financial situation means a deal could be struck in the next 10 days.

The reason is simple; the Italian champions will reportedly have to sell one of their biggest stars and balance their accounts by June 30.

Thus, the report adds that Hakimi seems to be the closest to be leaving Inter Milan at the moment.

Meanwhile, Chelsea is understood to have offered a fee in the region of €60million (£51.5m) plus one of either Marcos Alonso, Emerson Palmieri, or Andras Christensen for Hakimi Achraf.

However, Marcos Alonso is reported the one Inter is focusing on and the report further adds that the club’s new manager Simone Inzaghi has even approved the 30-year-old left-back as he sees him as an “ideal” player.

Although the Serie A giants want a slightly higher fee of €65million (£55.8m) for the 22-year-old, Calciomercato expects that an agreement could be reached in a few hours.

Plus the London club have been talking with Hakimi’s agent behind the scene for several days now. Therefore, the report claims that both parties are close to an agreement on the Moroccan’s potential wages and contract duration at Stamford Bridge.
