Chelsea Could Re-Sign Former Striker If They Fail To Land Erling Haaland

Despite the transfer links to Erling Haaland, it could be a former striker that Chelsea would re-sign this summer. Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku could reportedly make a surprise return to Chelsea as an alternative for Haaland.

New manager Thomas Tuchel has enjoyed a smooth start at Stamford Bridge, having embarked on a 14-match unbeaten run. So far the Blues have kept an impressive 12 clean sheets, conceding only 0.14 goals-per-game. However, as things are going strong on the defensive side of the game, Chelsea still seems a little short on firepower.

Thus, Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland has emerged as a top summer transfer target in recent weeks.

The Premier League giants, though, can expect competition for Haaland, whose goal-laden performances for Dortmund have not gone unnoticed. Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United, and Manchester City are all linked with a move for the Norway international.
