Despite the transfer links to Erling Haaland, it could be a former striker that Chelsea would re-sign this summer. Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku could reportedly make a surprise return to Chelsea as an alternative for Haaland.
New manager Thomas Tuchel has enjoyed a smooth start at Stamford Bridge, having embarked on a 14-match unbeaten run. So far the Blues have kept an impressive 12 clean sheets, conceding only 0.14 goals-per-game. However, as things are going strong on the defensive side of the game, Chelsea still seems a little short on firepower.
Thus, Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland has emerged as a top summer transfer target in recent weeks.
The Premier League giants, though, can expect competition for Haaland, whose goal-laden performances for Dortmund have not gone unnoticed. Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United, and Manchester City are all linked with a move for the Norway international.
Now according to The Telegraph, Chelsea could re-sign their former striker if the bid to bring Haaland fails. The Inter Milan star is allegedly high up on their list of alternatives should they fail to sign the prime target this summer.

Meanwhile, Italian outlet Calcio Mercato has claimed Manchester City and Barcelona are also keen on Lukaku. However, the Italia Serie A leaders have no immediate plans to sell their star striker so far.
