According to Matt Law of The Telegraph, Chelsea are going to try to complete the signing of Raheem Sterling from Manchester City by the end of this week.
The club are also hoping to sign a defender before the squad leaves for their pre-season tour to the United States next week.
After positive talks last week, the likely figure for the two clubs to agree upon for Sterling is going to top £45 million. They would like to have Sterling for the pre-season tour.
Thomas Tuchel is understood to be the key for the signing of the striker with wingers such as Hakim Ziyech reportedly set to leave Chelsea this summer. The Moroccan is set to join Serie A winners AC Milan with talks progressing well between Chelsea and the Italian club.
The Blues have also reportedly agreed on a fee with Leeds United for Brazilian Raphinha. However, the player is said to be favoring a move to La Liga with FC Barcelona his preferred choice of destination.
