Chelsea were chasing Jules Kounde last summer and despite a failed move, the Blues seemed intent to sign him this transfer window.
However, as per the reliable Fabrizio Romano, the center-back is no longer a priority for Chelsea.
Marina Granovskaia was in negotiations with Sevilla over a move but since she left her position as the sporting director, there hasn’t been contact over his sale.
Romano adds that ‘Kounde is still an option’ but now that Barcelona are interested in him too, it ‘complicates’ things for Chelsea.
It would seem that Nathan Ake and Matthijs de Ligt are now the Blues’ preferred centre-back targets.
