With all respect to Marcus Bettinelli, the transfer window that just slammed shut will be remembered by two Chelsea transfers: Romelu Lukaku fills in the vacancy at No.9, while Saul strengthens competition in the midfield.

Other than that, the Blues’ squad was already deep enough that Thomas Tuchel could field two different line-ups without a massive drop in quality.

Probably, the only issue in the backup XI is the right-sided center-back – where Reece James and Andreas Christensen can be Cesar Azpilicueta’s deputies, but they are needed in other roles too. Jules Kounde would’ve been the player to fill in that spot had he arrived.

There are plenty of options in other positions, however, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek was not even in the chart above.

Nevertheless, Chelsea’s squad for this season would be super-interesting to watch! Let’s hope it ends with some silverware!
