According to a report from a reliable Spanish news outlet, Mundo Deportivo, Chelsea are showing interest in signing Atletico Madrid‘s Saul Niguez.
The Spanish midfielder is said to have a release clause of £130m but the La Liga side are reportedly open to listening to offers in the region of £68m.
Meanwhile, the Blues are thought to be in the market for a midfielder, and Saul’s prowess has apparently made him a target for Thomas Tuchel.
Moreover, Chelsea and Manchester United aside, the likes of Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are also reportedly interested in the Spaniard but with PSG recently acquiring Gorginio Wijnaldum on a free transfer, they could be out of the race.
Although he is highly rated at Atletico, the La Liga-winning side are open to letting him leave due to financial strains following the COVID-19 pandemic.
Saul Niquez made a total of 41 appearances for Atletico Madrid last season, scoring 2 goals as a deep-lying midfielder.
