According to the report, Chelsea are in talks to bring in highly-rated Inter Milan’s RWB Hakimi Achraf this summer. However, a Chelsea fan and Twitter user Expected Chelsea explained why Blues fans shouldn’t get swept up in the hype of signing Hakimi Achraf just yet.
He wrote: “Let’s talk about Achraf Hakimi.”
1. He’s a world-class RWB. Arguably the best in the world.
2. He’s absolutely not worth €60m as a RB, RW or LWB.
“He’s not world-class there. What happens if we move to 4 at the back. One of Reece or Hakimi will have to leave – who goes?
“The response to the Hakimi saga sounds a lot like our fanbase reacting to Alaba rumours at one point. Everyone wants world-class players but does he really fit the finances?
“You can’t say no to a player of his quality but I don’t feel good about this transfer.
“If he comes, great, that’s one more world-class player albeit one who is elite only at one specialized position.
“If he doesn’t come, also great, we can spend our money more sensibly.”
