This season’s FIFA Club World Cup is being held in the United Arab Emirates, specifically Abu Dhabi. Chelsea’s semi-final and the 3rd place/final will take place at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium.
What is the format?
This year’s FIFA Club World Cup features four rounds of knock-out matches. Chelsea are already in the semi-final, due to winning the Champions League.
The Blues will also play one more game – the final or the 3rd place. Both games will go to penalties straight after normal time if there’s no winner in regulation.
When are the games?
Chelsea’s semi-final will be on February 9, with the other rounds starting previously on February 4. The final and the 3rd place match will take place on February 12.
Who are Chelsea’s opponents?
Al Hilal are in the quarter-finals and will face one of Al Jazira or Pirae. The winner of this game will face Chelsea.
Depending on the results in the semi-finals, the Blues will then face one of Palmeiras, Monterrey, and Al Ahly in either the final or the third-place play-off three days later.
