Thibaut Courtois Finally Reveals Why He Left Chelsea For Real Madrid In 2018 – He Explains Here
Thibaut Courtois actively pushed for a move to Real Madrid in 2018. Now he’s trying to repair some bridges he’s burned, saying he wanted to go to Madrid because his kids live there.
“Last year, I obviously rooted for Chelsea in the final, they won it. This year I hope they rooted for us, and we won it,” Courtois said in an interview after Real Madrid defeated Liverpool.
“I hope they understand the decision [to leave Chelsea]. We have talked a lot about it, there are no hard feelings towards Chelsea, I love the club, but I love my kids more.
