David Moyes Finally Reveals What Ole Gunnars Solskjaer Told Him About Jesse Lingard

Jesse Lingard is one of the Manchester United stars who are yet to put pen to paper as contract talks with the Red Devils keep going on.

In an interview quoted by Eurosport, David Moyes said: “Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] made it clear to me quite early in the transfer window that he wanted to keep him [Jesse Lingard].

“I knew pretty early in the transfer window that he was staying at Manchester United.”

Meanwhile, Jesse Lingard spent the second half of 2019-20 on loan with the Hammers, scoring nine goals and assisting four times. Since he returned to Old Trafford, he was expected to return permanently.

Despite rumors of a transfer, it appears the attacking midfielder does have a future at the club.

The Englishman impressed in pre-season and has already scored his first Premier League goal in 2021-22. He made an error in the 2-1 loss to Young Boys but for the most part, the 28-year-old has shown the desire to do better.

However, Jesse Lingard’s contract will run out at the end of the season.
