David de Gea Cuts Vacation Short To Fight Dean Henderson For No. 1 Role
Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is expected to officially end his vacation on July 27 but apparently, the Spaniard is already back with the Manchester United squad.
According to the Daily Star, although not the most reliable source in general, the Spanish goalkeeper has returned to the club ahead of schedule in a bid to fight Dean Henderson for No. 1 role.
By the end of the last season, the two goalkeepers have effectively split the duty, with De Gea appearing more frequently in the Europa League campaign while Dean Henderson took charge of most League games. He did not finish it on a high note, though, conceding 11 out of 11 penalties in the penalty shootout against Villarreal.

Meanwhile, with the arrival of Tom Heaton and another contract for Lee Grant, Man United have reportedly ‘paved the way’ for either De Gea or Henderson to leave.
However, that’s not De Gea’s plan, though. The 30-year-old is understood to be willing to stay and fight for his place, which is why it’s quite conceivable that he has returned to the squad pretty earlier than scheduled.
