Since the news of Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to Old Trafford, the question on almost every fan’s mouth is who will wear the No.7 shirt at United this season.
The shirt is currently occupied by Edinson Cavani but we all know the No.7 is Cristiano Ronaldo’s trademark jersey in his illustrious career.
Now according to club insider Jonathan Shrager, Edinson Cavani will be keeping the no.7 shirt at Man United this season.
There has been a lot of speculation around what will happen with the iconic jersey ever since Cristiano Ronaldo’s return was confirmed.
However, Premier League rules mean that players once registered into a squad cannot change their shirts unless they’re sold or the club gets special permission from the league.
Cavani will not be leaving Old Trafford this season and wishes to fulfill his contract until 2022.
Therefore, Ronaldo will now have to pick a different number and might have to drop the ‘CR7’ nickname at United.
