In his interview with TV3, Memphis Depay commented on how it was to link up with Antoine Griezmann on the pitch.
“In the last two games, he has often looked for me between the lines. He looks for me when I make a run and I also try to look for him myself. Griezmann is a player with great quality in terms of technical ability and intellect. You can see that at times we have a good connection,” Memphis said.
The 27-year-old was also asked whether he looks forward to sharing the pitch with Leo Messi.
“Yes, it is a dream. I hope it comes true soon. I’m looking forward to it,” the Dutchman replied.
Depay and Griezmann have already played two games together — the friendlies against Girona and Stuttgart. In the first one, Antoine let Memphis take the penalty that he won so the forward could score on his debut, which the Dutchman did.
As for Lionel Messi, he is yet to sign an extension with Barcelona so he has not joined the pre-season yet. However, it is expected that he could be back in time for the Joan Gamper Trophy game against Juventus, though.
