“Just because there’s a tour [pre-season], it’s a good opportunity for everyone,” said Diogo Dalot in an interview with club media.
“A new start, a new chapter, a new era. So I think everyone will be excited, I’m sure that the manager [Erik ten Hag] will be excited to work with us as well
“We need to build everyone as a team, as a group, as a club, and hopefully next season we can be solid and start the season well with a very good coach.”
The Manchester United defender continued: “I think the full-back position has been growing a lot in terms of the game plan and inside of the game.
“For me, it’s been a very good journey to have different coaches, different ideas, so I can adapt in every situation.”
“I’m sure that with the new manager I’ll try to adapt quick and show him that I can help this team, this club, and I think that’s the mentality that everyone will have.
“At the end of the day we all want to play but the first thing is the team.”
Dalot and his teammates will have the perfect chance to impress Ten Hag during our pre-season tour this year.
The Dutch boss is expected to stage a massive clear-out and will only retain players who genuinely want to stay.
Dalot has played 27 times across competitions this season and faces competition from Aaron Wan-Bissaka for the right-back role.
