During Emerson Royal’s presentation at Camp Nou, Barca president Joan Laporta mentioned two other Brazilian players that made history at Barcelona — Dani Alves and Juliano Belletti.
“They are players who made history, especially Alves, whom I have as an idol. He is the player with the most titles in the history of football. I spoke with him, he told me to come here and that things will work out naturally,” Emerson responded.
Although he has returned from vacation, the 22-year-old is yet to join Ronald Koeman‘s squad. The Brazilian has been training at the Ciutat Esportiva while those players who joined the pre-season earlier are in Germany.
The right-back signed a 3-year contract with the Catalans that will see him stay at the club until June 2024 at least. The former Real Betis full-back was also a part of the Brazil Squad that lost the Copa America final to Messi’s Argentina side last month.
