Eric Bailly is close to agreeing contract extension at Manchester United as the Ivorian defender’s contract is set to expire in 2022.
Bailly is closing in on agreeing on a new 4-year contract extension with Manchester United, as per ESPN’s reliable journalist Rob Dawson.
The reporter reveals that a breakthrough in negotiations that were going on for months had been made last week with the defender now in advanced talks for a new deal.
Eric Bailly had been holding off on signing a new deal as he looked for more game-time assurances from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but he is now satisfied he will receive more chances when fully fit.
Moreover, the defender’s uncertain future had led to a lot of interest from Italian and Spanish clubs but he now seems set to continue his journey at Old Trafford.
Bailly has made 15 appearances for United this season – helping the Red Devils keep 9 clean sheets in those games.
