Ex-Chelsea Boss Sends Emotional Message To Timo Werner After His Reduced Role At Chelsea

Dutch great and former Chelsea player-manager Ruud Gullit had some strong words to say about Timo Werner’s form since his arrival in England.

Quoted by Foot Mercato, the former Chelsea manager said on Ziggo Sport: “I can confirm it [Werner is struggling with his confidence]. It’s almost emotional to see.

“You see he doesn’t trust himself. But as a coach, you see he’s always in the right place. If he puts the ball in the net only once.. [he will get some confidence back].”

Meanwhile, in 52 games last season, Werner scored 12 goals and produced 15 assists – his form in front of goal has been poor, but the pacy forward is often involved in his team’s build-up play.

Hopefully, the German can get a good scoring run going and adjust better to English football this season.
