A few months ago, ex-Man United head coach Louis van Gaal warned Erik ten Hag against going to Old Trafford and go to an ‘actual football club.
Now that Ten Hag did not heed his advice, Van Gaal argues that there might be a chance for his fellow Dutchman to succeed.
“There is now a new leadership,” Van Gaal said, as per Sky Sports. “It was Woodward and now it is Richard Arnold and that can make the difference. So we have to wait and see.
“He (Ten Hag) has a lot of confidence. So who am I to say something about that?”
Woodward was the vice-chairman during Van Gaal’s time at the club, and it’s safe to say that the coach did not enjoy working with him very much.
It’s the first summer transfer window for the new leadership now, so there’s a chance to do things in a new way. We’re yet to see how that works out.
