Why Frank Lampard Deserves a Champions League Medal Explained
Chelsea have won the Champions League after an exceptional transformation under Thomas Tuchel, who took charge of the team in January. However, the Blues started the Champions League campaign with Frank Lampard in the dugout – and the club actually topped their group, playing unbeaten.

Before attending to the question, here is a direct quote from the Regulations of the UEFA Champions League, article 11, paragraph 11.03:
“The winning team is presented with 40 gold medals and the runner-up with 40 silver medals. Additional medals may not be produced.”
