New Germany head coach Hans-Dieter Flick has revealed that he has talked with Thomas Tuchel over the best possible use of Kai Havertz on the pitch.
“I do believe that Kai can play in the center [of a front three],” Flick told German outlet SportBILD.
“I exchanged ideas with Thomas Tuchel. I can well imagine that he can also play in the center.”
With Chelsea, Havertz often appeared as a false nine last season but with Romelu Lukaku‘s arrival, he’s less likely to appear in that role.
At the German national team, however, there’s every chance that this will be Kai’s position going forward as they lack a center-forward of Romelu Lukaku’s stature.
