Chelsea are going to play their first pre-season game on July 16 when they face Club America in the ‘Clash of Nations’ tour.
Thomas Tuchel’s side will re-assemble for pre-season training on July 2, two weeks before their first game.
While not all first-team player is expected to return to training on that day, with many participating in international games earlier this month, Tuchel should have a full squad available for the first game.
There is still a lot of uncertainty over whether Chelsea will be able to make any signings anytime soon.
They have been linked with a few players recently, but the current priority seems to be reshuffling the management structure and player contract renewals.
That means Tuchel might have to field an XI against Club America consisting of the existing players in the squad and no new signings. Here is how that can look like.
Chelsea possible XI vs Club America: Kepa, James, Chalobah, Sarr, Chilwell, Jorginho, Kovacic, Havertz, Mount, Pulisic, Werner.
