Rangnick Reveals If Maguire And Lindelof Will Be Fit To Play Against Aston Villa

“With Harry [Maguire], there is still a question mark but Victor [Lindelof] will definitely be available for the game [against Aston Villa] on Monday,” said Ralf Rangnick in his pre-match press conference.

“Victor is back in training, since yesterday, which is very good news for us.

“Harry hasn’t been able to train, as yet, and we have to wait and see how this develops, tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.”

The Manchester United boss continued: “There might be a few changes [against Villa] but I haven’t taken the final decisions yet myself.

“We will definitely try to play this game as if it was a normal Premier League or Champions League game.”

“We will definitely not play with eight or nine different players [against Aston Villa], or even 10, as we did against Young Boys in the Champions League.

“We will try to play with the best possible team, with a strong team.”

Phil Jones partnered Raphael Varane at the back against Wolves but despite a spirited performance, it remains to be seen if he’s part of the starting XI again.

Lindelof could instead return and play alongside Varane when we play Villa in the FA Cup.
