Is Juvederm Covered By Insurance

Juvéderm is a dermal filler used to treat facial wrinkles. It contains water and hyaluronic acid to create a gel-like product that nourishes your skin. The national average price for each syringe is about $620, according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

The exact price of Juvederm varies as there are different product formulas. Other factors that can affect costs include the cost of your provider, where you live, and whether you need to take time off from work. The cost is also divided by session and the amount you may need depending on the area being treated.

Is Juvederm Covered By Insurance

Like other cosmetic procedures, Juvederm is not insured. But recovery time is fast and you don’t need to take a break from work or school.

Total expected costs

Juvéderm is considered a non-invasive (non-surgical) procedure. This makes it a much more affordable option compared to surgical procedures like a facelift and without the full risk of complications.

Cosmetic (aesthetic) procedures such as dermal fillers are considered eligible by health insurance companies, meaning they are not medically necessary. Your insurance will not cover the cost of your injections. You can expect to pay an average of $500 to $600 or more for each syringe. Depending on your goals, you may need several shots in one session. Some providers offer two injections in one treatment.

Juvederm prices vary widely. Unlike other wrinkle treatments like Botox, Juvederm is available in different formulas based on the area being treated. Each formula has a different amount of Hyaluronic Acid and there may be some differences in the size of the syringe.

The main types of Juvederm are:

  • Wolbela
  • Ultra
  • volume
  • volume

Each formula is available in an “XC” version that contains lidocaine. This makes the injection process less painful and does not require a separate anesthetic beforehand.

Juvéderm for lips and mouth

There are two main Juvederm formulas for lips: Ultra XC and Volbella XC. Juvéderm Ultra XC gives volume to your lips, while Volbella XC is mostly used for lip lines and wrinkles around the mouth.

The price of these formulas varies, with the Ultra XC costing up to $1,000 per syringe. Another difference is in volume: the Ultra XC syringe contains 1.0 ml of dermal filler, and the Volbella syringe has roughly half that amount.

Juvéderm under eyes

Your doctor may use Juvéderm Voluma to treat volume loss under your eyes, although it is not specifically FDA-approved for this purpose. The Voluma XC can cost up to $1,500 per syringe.

Juvéderm for the cheeks

If you want to accentuate your cheeks and give the skin in the area a little lift, your doctor may recommend Juvéderm Voluma XC. Vollure XC can also treat lines that run around the nose and mouth, sometimes called braces.

The average cost of the Vollure XC is estimated at $750 per treatment. Volumas can cost a little more than $1,500 per syringe.

Recovery time

Juvederm requires no recovery time, so you may not need to leave work. However, slight swelling and bruising may occur.

You should also consider the time required for your initial consultation and follow-up interview, and adjust your work schedule if necessary.

Are there any ways to reduce costs?

Even if Juvederm is unaffordable, there may still be ways to reduce profits to make your injections more affordable. Ask your doctor about:

  • payment plan
  • Seller Membership
  • financing options
  • manufacturer discount

Juvederm also participates in a program called Brilliant Awards. This allows you to earn points from your treatment over time to reduce costs in your provider’s office.

How long will the procedure last?

The total duration of the procedure can last from 15 to 60 minutes, depending on how many syringes your doctor uses.

You will see results immediately and it can last up to a year. Some people can see results for up to two years after treatment, depending on the filler used. You may need to see your doctor for maintenance treatment. Results may vary depending on the formula.

Restylane vs. Juvéderm cost

Like Juvéderm, Restylane is another type of hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler used to thicken the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Restylane treats deep wrinkles but contains sodium hyaluronic acid, a variant of hyaluronic acid. The prices of the two are similar, but some believe that Juvéderm provides smoother results when using the “V” range of products (Voluma, Vollure, Volbella).
