Real Madrid center-back Raphael Varane has singled out N’Golo Kante’s all-round performance for Chelsea against Los Blancos as one of the key strengths of the Blues game.
The French defender cited his compatriot’s ability to break the lines with his passes and winning back possession as trouble to his Madrid side.
“N’Golo? He was a nuisance, that’s clear,” Raphael Varane told RMC Sport in his post-match interview after Real Madrid’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea.
“At this stage of the season, physicality is a determining factor, and it’s true that he runs a lot [laughs].
“He caused us a lot of problems, he managed to break the lines, he also has this ability to recover balls.
“We know the quality of this team, and he is one of their strengths.”
Meanwhile, N’Golo Kante’s all-round performance for Chelsea against Real Madrid was highlighted by his stats in the game, including being involved in more duels (21) and completed more dribbles (6) than anyone else on the pitch. He was duly named the Man of the Match for his splendid display.
Varane, who is a national teammate with Kante at France surely does not sound happy to be on opposite sides with the midfielder.
