Karim Benzema Finally Speaks Out On Playing With Giroud After His Previous Comments About The Chelsea Striker!

Karim Benzema and Olivier Giroud aren’t exactly best of friends. However, the French duo has seemed to be cool after meeting recently in Real Madrid vs Chelsea’s Champions League clashes.

Recall: Last year, Benzema had told the media when asked what he thought of his exclusion from the French squad and Giroud taking his place: “You can’t confuse an F1 car with a go-kart and I’m being kind.”

The Chelsea striker responded by reminding Benzema of his status as a World Cup winner, only for the Real Madrid forward to double down on his previous remarks: “I simply said the truth.”

Now, Karim Benzema has been finally called back to the French squad after a 6-year hiatus as manager Didier Deschamps decided to pick the Madrid striker once again.

Following his recent call-up, the Madrid forward told L’Equipe of a conversation he had with Giroud after Madrid and Chelsea’s Champions League semi-final: “Of course. Olivier, I saw him during the Chelsea match.

“We spoke, it was relaxed. He congratulated me for my goal. It was good spirit, it was cool. I’ve played with him before, now it’s going to be the same as before.”

The pair will now be in the same camp as France look to win the Euro this summer.
