Ronald Koeman has a five-name ‘red list’ of players that he wants to be offloaded before the end of the summer transfer window, RAC1’s Gerard Romero reports.
The five players are Riqui Puig, Alex Collado, Rey Manaj, Miralem Pjanic and Samuel Umtiti, as per the source.
The named players are yet to play a single minute for Barcelona this season, so it does appear that the coach doesn’t count on them.
Also, it can be noted that the cases of Pjanic and Umtiti are especially bad as the two were dropped from the matchday squads for Real Sociedad and Athletic Bilbao.
As for the players themselves, Pjanic appears the only one who would accept a departure. Puig, Collado, and Umtiti all want to continue at Camp Nou, as per previous reports, while Manaj’s position remains unclear.
Meanwhile, we recently reported that Barcelona are about to revert their initial decision to terminate Umtiti’s contract as they don’t want to engage in a legal battle with the player. So it’s left to be seen what would happen in the remaining few days of the window.
