Here is the latest transfer round-up on Manchester United’s transfer activities for this summer as new manager Erik ten Hag is looking to make his first major signing for the Red Devils.
Man United have been linked with different names since the start of the summer but seemingly have found it difficult to break the deadlock in this transfer window. One of the reasons for the difficulty is reportedly the lack of Champions League football which makes it difficult for some quality players to consider a switch to Old Trafford.
Given lots of news in the past week about United’s transfer wishes, here are a few of the latest happenings relating to Man United.
De Jong ‘clears out lockers’ at Barcelona ahead of possible United move
Frenkie de Jong has emptied his lockers at Barcelona’s dressing rooms as he closes in on a move to Man United, claims Spanish outlet AS.
While United remain around £17m short of Barca’s valuation of the midfielder, they are optimistic about getting a deal done and De Jong is preparing for the move too.
Ronaldo is happy to stay at United
Cristiano Ronaldo is happy to stay at United for another season and fulfill his contract by playing under Erik ten Hag, claims club insider Jonathan Shrager.
The Red Devils will not play in the Champions League – a competition he has played in every season – in 2022/23 but that has not impacted Ronaldo’s decision.
Henderson’s move to Nottingham to be a straight loan
As per The Athletic, Man United and Nottingham Forest have only been discussing a straight loan for Dean Henderson.
There will not be an option or obligation added to the deal that allows Forest to sign the goalkeeper next year.

According to Portuguese news outlet Jornal di Noticias, Ruben Neves is open to the idea of extending his stay with Wolves by signing a new contract.
Despite interest from Man United and Barcelona, the 25-year-old reportedly believes it’s best to commit his future to the Molineux outfit.
