Liverpool Boss Sends Title Warning to Chelsea after Burnley Stall

Jurgen Klopp believes Liverpool can win the league, he sends a strong warning to the leaders Chelsea in an interview.

“I don’t know, but the league is getting stronger and so it is more difficult to get 99 or 97 points, that’s logical,” Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp said when asked how many points are needed to win the Premier League this season.

“I have no idea what will be needed so we should not think about that yet but what is for sure, and is the same as always, is that you have to be nearly perfect to win the league.

“There are very positive talks about Chelsea and rightly so – absolutely great team, super coach, all these things – but they are only three points ahead.

“It’s not as though we are now far off.

“We have played them and we know how good they are. The same with City and the others. Nothing is decided.”

During the last season, Man City needed 86 points to win the Premier League. It was a one-horse race as the second-placed Man United had only 74 points in the end.

The league crown looks more tightly contested this season, with Chelsea leading the pack with 25 points after 10 games.

Three points separate the Blues from the second-placed Liverpool, while City and West Ham are further two points away.
