Man United are considering making a bid to sign N’Golo Kante from Chelsea in the summer, claims the Guardian.
The Athletic have also confirmed that the Red Devils are pondering on a move and believe he’ll be available for a cut-price in the summer.
That is because the Frenchman is set to become a free agent in 2023 after being unable to sign a new deal with Chelsea.
The Red Devils want to strengthen their ‘underperforming midfield’ and are eyeing a move for Kante to potentially replace the departing Nemanja Matic.
Erik ten Hag is believed to be a big fan of the midfielder and feels that he can be a perfect fit for his system as well as an ideal role model for the youngsters at United.
Chelsea might consider the bid from United because of Kante’s recent injury issues, but at this moment, they aren’t convinced enough to sell him.
N’Golo made 26 appearances in the Premier League last season, scoring 2 goals and registering 4 assists.
