Speaking about his thoughts on Scott McTominay’s attitude after Man United’s 1-0 win over Aston Villa, Ralf Rangnick told BBC: “He is an academy boy, his energy is amazing.

“He now also starts scoring goals and also with some leadership skills. I wouldn’t be surprised if in a couple of years he would be the captain of this team.”

McTominay scored the pivotal winner against Villa, a smart header to convert Fred’s cross. He’s now scored 2 goals in his last 3 games for the Red Devils, which is as many as he had scored in the 39 games before that.

Scott has started in 6 out of the 7 games Rangnick has managed at United so far and seems to be becoming a stalwart in the German manager’s lineup.
