Earlier this week, Spanish media claimed that Manchester United were ready to use Anthony Martial to drive down Borussia Dortmund’s asking price for Erling Haaland.
However, tier-one transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has recently stated any reports of a potential swap deal between the two clubs involving Martial and Haaland are simply ‘not true’.
Moreover, signing a striker is not a priority for Man United this summer with the Red Devils likely to switch their attention to bringing in a defensive midfielder once the transfer of Raphael Varane is made official.
Meanwhile, speaking about his future recently, Haaland said: “Before yesterday, I haven’t talked to my agent in a month. You to tell me! But I hope they are just rumors, as €175 million [price tag] would be a lot of money for one person.”
Besides, United just completed the signing of another Borussia Dortmund youngster in Jadon Sancho this summer, thus, making any further deal impossible.
