Manchester United Star Names Eden Hazard As The Greatest Ever In Premier League
Manchester United star and former Chelsea two-time Player of the Year Juan Mata has named Eden Hazard as the greatest ever player in the Premier League.
Anytime these two names are mentioned, Blues faithful must be feeling quite nostalgic as the duo created memorable scenes at the Stamford Bridge.
Following Eden Hazard’s move from Lille to Chelsea in 2012, the two iconic stars played together for 18 months until Juan Mata’s surprising transfer to Old Trafford in January 2014.
Then, it was Eden on the left, Mata in the center with either Oscar, André Schürrle, or Ramires on the right flank – Chelsea boost one of the best creative-midfield forces in the league back then.
Thus, Juan Mata still remembers those days and when asked to name the Premier League greatest player in a Q&A session with Manchester United, the Spanish international picked his former Chelsea teammate.

The former Chelsea No. 10 told Manchester United’s official website: “The best Premier League player… I mean, I used to love to play with, and against, Eden Hazard. For me, for many years, he was the best in the league.
“He could win games by himself. I used to train with him and I know how good he can be.
“He has been very unlucky in his time with Real Madrid with some injuries, but I’m sure he’ll show his real level when he’s fit to do that and he’s not injured.”

On the other hand, Juan Mata mentioned other Premier League greats including Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, John Terry, Frank Lampard, and Didier Drogba, and he thinks they are up there as the best players in Premier League history.
Since moving from Chelsea to United in 2014, Mata has won the Europa League and the League Cup under Jose Mourinho in 2016-17. Whereas, he won two European trophies with Chelsea; the Champions League in 2012 and the Europa League in 2013, as well as an FA Cup trophy.
