Mendy Beats Liverpool Forward Sadio Mane To an International Award, Ending His Dominance

Edouard Mendy was named the Senegalese Player of the Year – the award was voted on by sports journalists from his country.

The goalkeeper crushed his competition to claim the award as Sadio Mane and Ismaila Sarr were far behind in the votes.

Mendy collected 321 points, followed by Mane (99 points) and Sarr (61 points).

Meanwhile, Sadio Mane had won the award for the last six years running. The Liverpool forward didn’t have the best 2021, however, and Mendy is a well-deserved winner.
