Edouard Mendy joined Chelsea in 2020, instantly making the goalkeeper spot his own. The Chelsea no. 1 has now revealed what former Blues boss Frank Lampard told him after signing for the club last year.
“At the beginning of my career, I didn’t think that I would be one of the best goalkeepers in the world,” Edouard Mendy told El Match TV, as quoted by London World.
“Lampard was delighted I had joined Chelsea, and assured me that I would be an influential factor with the team and that helped me give my best.”
“There is no comparison between Lampard and Tuchel.
“Each coach has his own philosophy and we have to benefit from everyone.”
The 29-year-old has made 59 appearances for the Blues so far, keeping 34 clean sheets.
