Pep Guardiola Breaks The Silence On Jose Mourinho’s Sacking

Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, fresh off winning the EFL Cup breaks the silence on Jose Mourinho’s sacking as Tottenham manager a week ago.

“I’m lucky… in the first season we didn’t win anything in the club support me more than ever and success came later,” Guardiola replied when asked about Jose Mourinho’s sacking from Tottenham after defeating Spurs in the EFL Cup final on Sunday.

“I had incredible support – the Sheikh & Khaldoon were always behind me in defeat, harder and stronger than when I had success.”

Unlike Manchester City‘s owners, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy decided to part company with Mourinho last week following his 17-month trophyless stint at the North London club.

However, the lack of trophies apparently wasn’t the main reason behind the Portuguese’ dismissal from Spurs. According to reports, Jose lost the dressing room in his final months at the helm of the club and thus was shown the door by Levy.
