6 Players Free To Leave Stamford Bridge In Summer Finally Revealed

We are just four months away from the end of the current season and the Blues have six players whose future at the club is uncertain.

Let’s take a look at the expiring contracts at the club at the end of this campaign:

Andreas Christensen

Christensen has made 18 appearances in the Champions League and Premier League this season. Still only 25, the center-back has been one of the world’s best players at his position since Thomas Tuchel arrived.

There is no resolution on his new deal yet, with clubs like Barcelona being linked with a move for him. As per the Evening Standard, he is ‘expected’ to renew and Tuchel wants him to stay here. However, this saga can still go either way.

Antonio Rudiger

The most pressing issue – Tuchel has said that he’s ‘confident’ Rudiger will extend his deal.

As per The Athletic’s latest update, contract talks have restarted with the center-back and while there is no new offer, there is hope that he could extend his deal.

However, Real Madrid and PSG still remain interested in Rudiger, as per Bild.

Cesar Azpilicueta

Tuchel said that there is nothing to worry about Azpi’s contract situation. The captain also said that he has the trust of the club and that he’s very happy here.

Azpi has been at the club for a decade now and while Barcelona have been credited with an interest, the defender is likely to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge.

Saul Niguez

Saul’s is a loan deal and Chelsea have an option to buy the player for £34m next summer if they choose to. While the midfielder has performed well in his last two games, he hasn’t shown enough for the Blues to warrant turning his loan deal into a permanent one.

He has made 13 appearances for Chelsea, with five of them coming in the domestic cups. Saul is yet to fully adapt to the Premier League and the next three months will determine if Tuchel wants him here next season.

Lewis Baker

Baker made his first Blues appearance after 8 years in the win against Chesterfield. However, the 26-year-old has no future here and is expected to leave as a free agent this summer.

Charly Musonda Jr

Injuries have wrecked Musonda Jr’s career as he has not played professional football since his horrible injury back in 2018. The once-talented teenager is now 25 years old and given Chelsea’s quality, it’s hard to see him making it here.

Musonda Jr confirmed that his contract won’t be renewed and he will look for another club this summer. We wish him all the best for his future.
