“It’s a hard one to take obviously,” Bruno Fernandes said in his post-match interview.
“We created enough to win this game. We have to be a little bit more clinical, starting with me, I had many chances today to score.
“We didn’t score, we don’t concede goal, but if you don’t score then you don’t win the game.
“It’s a hard one to take, but there’s a massive game coming up and we have to prepare ourselves for that game.”
The Manchester United midfielder, who was the captain in the 0-0 draw with Watford, added: “It felt like we could have played another 90 minutes and we would have been here all day without scoring.
“It makes no sense to think about this game. We need to watch and understand what we can do better, but our focus needs to be on the next one.”
The Red Devils had a whopping 22 attempts on goal but only seven on target. Bruno himself wasted many of those chances while Cristiano Ronaldo was ruled offside twice.
Ralf Rangnick deserves credit for the way he set up the team and the fact that we created so many opportunities. The result, however, is on the players.
