Erik ten Hag is yet to decide whether he wants to take the captain’s armband off Harry Maguire, ESPN reports.
It’s claimed that the dressing room is split over whether the England international should continue in this role after a poor campaign.
There are even questions about the center-back’s place in the starting XI. Maguire might have troubles due to his lack of pace and Ten Hag’s insistence on a high defensive line.
If Ten Hag opts for a change, there are at least three candidates to replace Maguire in this role: David de Gea, Bruno Fernandes, and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The report adds that Ralf Rangnick suggested holding a vote among players. It’s not clear if that actually happens.
