Here is our predicted Real Madrid XI vs Chelsea in the Champions League semi-final first-leg clash on Tuesday. Against Real Betis in the weekend, Zinedine Zidane opted for a 4-3-3 formation and most probably he’ll apply a similar approach against Chelsea.
With both Toni Kroos and Ferland Mendy, who are doubts for the upcoming game to recover in time to play, there is no doubt the Frenchman will field his strongest XI possible.
Also, compatriot Raphael Varane is tipped to get a starting berth against Chelsea over Nacho, who has been solid of late in the pairing with Miliatao as the Frenchman is ahead of the Spaniard in Zidane’s pecking order.
When both are fit, Carvajal and Mendy are undisputed starters at full-back with the former lasting for 68 minutes against Betis and looked absolutely sharp.
The trio of Casemiro, Modric, and Kroos is arguably the best midfield combination in the world and when they play together Real Madrid looks like a different team. And against Betis, the German maestro was sorely missed and probably Los Blancos would’ve found a winner if he had been on the pitch.
In the attack, Karim Benzema is an undisputed starter. Vinicius started from the bench and was introduced only for the last 30 minutes in the latest La Liga clash, which suggests that he’ll probably start on Tuesday. Besides, the Brazilian was brilliant against Liverpool in the previous round of the competition.
Then finally, Eden Hazard, who made a return on Saturday after a lengthy spell on the sidelines, should start against his former club. The 30-year-old got just 15 minutes to play against Real Betis coming from the bench but managed to exert much pressure on the opposition’s defense. The Belgian seems to be ready to deliver on a big occasion even if he can’t last for the full 90 minutes on Tuesday.
