With a few clubs able to afford a spending spree due to the financial difficulties as a result of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the money spent on this summer’s transfer for a Premier League club is not as it’s used to.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are set to announce the signings of Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid and Aaron Ramsdale from Sheffield United in the coming hours.
Once the transfer are officially confirmed, the Gunners will become the biggest Premier League spenders of the 2021 summer window.
Arsenal, who finished 8th last season, will have spent £129 million, overtaking Manchester United’s spending of £114 million.
