Paris Saint-Germain have rebuffed Man United’s first approach for their manager Mauricio Pochettino, ESPN reports.
The Premier League club have made the Argentinian coach their main target to become the next permanent manager at Old Trafford.
However, they have been informed that PSG are unwilling to talk with them at the moment, even though they have sounded out Zinedine Zidane as a potential replacement for Pochettino.
That’s why United believe that they are more likely to get their man in the summer. As it stands, their focus is turning back towards appointing an interim manager to the end of the season.
Former Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde has been contacted in connection with that job, as well as ex-Borussia Dortmund head coach Lucien Favre. So far, however, there’s no outstanding candidate.
